Use of the jet ski and use of the life vest. That is the entire inclusion list. There is no guide, no route, no photographs, no lockers named, and no briefing described beyond what supervision on the beach provides.

Against that, no other listing in Puerto Rico comes close on price. Thirty minutes at $80 works out cheaper per minute than the 45-minute Isla Verde rental only if you ride alone; split two ways both land near the same figure, and the Isla Verde machine is current-year with a full refund attached.

Where the rating comes from

Twenty-two travellers put this at 3.7, and the sister Las Picuas tour from the same operator at 4.4 from five. Those are the weakest scores in this comparison, and both belong to listings sold final sale.

That pattern is worth stating without overreaching: an operator confident about the ride tends to be relaxed about refunds. Twenty-two reviews is a real sample, unlike the five-review listings elsewhere here, so the 3.7 carries more weight than it would on a new product.

Your change of mind is final

All sales are final and no refund is available for cancellations. Book a Tuesday morning and decide on Monday night that you would rather sleep in, and the $80 is spent.

The operator does cancel and refund for bad weather — that clause is on the listing. So the risk is not a storm taking your money; it is an ordinary change of plan on a holiday, which is exactly the thing that happens most.

What they ask before you ride

Booking takes date of birth, height and weight for each rider, which is more personal detail than the San Juan operators request up front. Children ride from 8, adults up to 75.

The site describes itself as wheelchair accessible, which is unusual on this island's jet ski listings, though the listing also warns against riding with spinal injuries. If accessibility is the reason you are reading, ask the operator directly before booking something that cannot be refunded.

Book it if

You are already spending the day at Luquillo, your date is fixed, and half an hour of riding is what you want rather than a tour. Two of you sharing pay $40 each, which is less than lunch at the kiosks up the beach, and the zone is yours to ride rather than a line to follow.

Skip it if

Your plans could shift, or you are travelling far for this. A non-refundable half hour is a bad instrument for an uncertain week, and driving forty minutes each way for thirty minutes on the water is a poor trade unless you are already out east.

For $35 more the Isla Verde rental gives 45 minutes on a current-year machine, no deposit, all taxes in and a full refund 24 hours out — and it rates 4.6.

Licence, life jackets and hours

Puerto Rico's rules sit behind every ride on this island. A boater education card is required of residents born after July 1, 1972, not of visitors, who complete an orientation and show photo ID. A US Coast Guard approved life jacket must be worn by everyone aboard, the kill-switch lanyard clips to the driver, riding before dawn or after sunset is prohibited, and a personal watercraft may not tow a skier.
