We compare operator listings, the island's own navigation rules and recent traveller feedback. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours: we employ no guides, hold no bookings and own no machines. The rides sit on the jet ski comparison, and every number here carries the month it was last read.
Why this site exists
Search for a jet ski in Puerto Rico and the prices you get back are unusable. Nearly every listing quotes a figure for the machine, not the person — and almost nobody says so on the page you land on. Two people reading the same $169 as a per-person price will skip the ride that was actually cheaper for them than the one they booked.
The licence question goes the same way. Puerto Rico does require a boater education card, so the answer that circulates is yes, you need one. It is required of residents born after July 1, 1972. A visitor renting for an hour completes an orientation and shows ID.
None of this is hidden. It sits in the operators' own small print, in the DRNA's rules and in the Coast Guard's summary of Puerto Rico's boating law. Putting it next to the price is the whole job of this site.
Where the facts come from
Prices, ride times, ratings, review counts, age limits, weight caps and cancellation terms are read off each operator's own listing on the date shown, in US dollars. Every ride carries the same fields in the same order, and where a listing says nothing we write that it says nothing rather than filling the gap. Listings checked: September 2026.
The legal side — the licence rule, the ban on riding before dawn and after sunset, mandatory life jackets and kill-switch lanyards, the ban on towing a skier — is checked against Ley 430, the Ley de Navegacion y Seguridad Acuatica administered by the DRNA, and against the US Coast Guard's published summary of Puerto Rico's state boating laws. Where an operator puts something inconvenient in writing, we quote it. The Vieques operator states it is not responsible for your return ferry ticket; two Luquillo listings say all sales are final. Those lines are on their pages and they are on ours.
What we do not do
We do not ride the tours, inspect the machines, meet the guides or audit anyone's safety record. Whether a specific hull was serviced this month, or whether the north swell is safe on a given morning, takes someone standing on that dock — that is the operator's job and the harbour's, not a website's.
We also do not take your booking. Every Check Availability button hands you to the platform the operator sells on, where the price, the terms and your money are handled. We hold no reservations and can change nothing about one.
How the site pays for itself
Through affiliate commissions. If you book after following a link from here, the platform pays us a share of its own margin and you pay the same price you would have paid going there directly. Nothing on this site is a paid placement: no operator has bought a position, a rating or a kind sentence, and the ranking in the comparison table is by price, not by what pays best.
